Tiling finished

Tiling of the bathrooms and laundry is finished and the kitchen splashback is done. The stone benchtops are also installed in the kitchen. There is still all plastic coating over the kitchen to be peeled off but it all looks good. an aluminium edging still needs to be put around the windows next to the kitchen bench.

We have found a tiler to do the rest of the house and the balcony and that's gonna cost about $10 000 all up. More than we thought but the tiling needs to be done. It's the same guy that did the bathrooms etc so at least we know he does a good job.

The kitchen appliances and bathroom fitout should be happening next week. They tell us handover should be around 10th March.

Photos of Tiles

Here are some photos of the tiles we have chosen to use.

This first tile is called Crystal Brown and is a a large rectangular mirrored finish tile to be used for the kitchen splashback. They will be laid very closely together and with mocha grout.

These are the tiles we have chosen for the bathrooms, toilet and laundry. The square brown tile is called Eco Espresso and will be for the floors and laid with mocha grout. The rectangle white tiles are called Cargo plain gloss white and are for the walls of the bathroom and ensuite, for the skirting row of the toilet and laundry and behind the laundry sink. The small squared mosaic glass tiles are for a feature wall in the main bathroom shower recess and the large squared mosaic glass tiles are for a feature wall in the ensuite shower recess.

These are the tiles we have chosen for the flooring throughout the living areas and the front balcony and porch. The large square tile is 610mm x 610mm and is called Bengala Beige. These will be laid closely together with only 2mm grout and I think we will use a creme or light coloured grout. They will be throughout the foyer, rumpus, kitchen, living and dining areas. The bedroms and home theatre room will be carpeted. The dark grey rectangle tile is for the balony and porch and will actually be square the same size as the internal tiles 610mm x 610mm. (this is just a cut off sample) It is called Bengala Negro slip resisitant.
