Garage Door On

Garage door has been put on today or yesterday. It's colour is Colorbond Evening Haze. The water tank will be this colour as well and we are going to get the colorbond fencing done to match also. Pics below. Pretty much all done on the outside now except for the downpipes and the front door being painted. (and the months of landscaping we have to do)

Plastering and Balcony Railing

Plastering has been started and the balcony rails have been put on in the last few days. Photos of this below.

Gyprock Photos

Here's a heap of photos of the gyprocking that's been done

Light Pendant For Entry

This is a light we think we like to put in the entrance foyer. The rest of the house will just be the simple lights so we thought one fancy looking thing in the foyer would be good.

Photos of Tiles

Here are some photos of the tiles we have chosen to use.

This first tile is called Crystal Brown and is a a large rectangular mirrored finish tile to be used for the kitchen splashback. They will be laid very closely together and with mocha grout.

These are the tiles we have chosen for the bathrooms, toilet and laundry. The square brown tile is called Eco Espresso and will be for the floors and laid with mocha grout. The rectangle white tiles are called Cargo plain gloss white and are for the walls of the bathroom and ensuite, for the skirting row of the toilet and laundry and behind the laundry sink. The small squared mosaic glass tiles are for a feature wall in the main bathroom shower recess and the large squared mosaic glass tiles are for a feature wall in the ensuite shower recess.

These are the tiles we have chosen for the flooring throughout the living areas and the front balcony and porch. The large square tile is 610mm x 610mm and is called Bengala Beige. These will be laid closely together with only 2mm grout and I think we will use a creme or light coloured grout. They will be throughout the foyer, rumpus, kitchen, living and dining areas. The bedroms and home theatre room will be carpeted. The dark grey rectangle tile is for the balony and porch and will actually be square the same size as the internal tiles 610mm x 610mm. (this is just a cut off sample) It is called Bengala Negro slip resisitant.

Gyprock/Plastering Started

We went for a drive to the house yesterday and the gyprock/plaster has been started. Probably about a third done so far. Guess it will be finished by the end of the week. The gyprock and wet area board was all delivered last week so thinking it would start going up on Monday we have driven out a few times this week to find nothing at all done and came home sad. All good now though and like the site superviser has said.....the kitchen may be in by the Christmas break.

No photos of this yet. Didn't think it was worth taking photos until it is all done.

Our quote for the extra electrical work was $3000. More than we thought it would be but it's paid now so can get over it. I suppose it's reasonable really as we have added quite a bit of work on top of the standard electrical allowance.

External Painting - First Coat Done

The first coat of painting has been done on the outside of the house. Will be finished off on Monday and then the plasterers will start the inside. All the electrical cabling, plumbing and gas pipes are also finished.

The external front door and a few internal doors are on.

I think this will be finished by March...not June

Front Rendering Done

Cement rendering has been done on the front of the house. Is still drying in the photos so you can see a slight pattern of the bricks where the lines between the bricks are darker...the top section was done the day before so it has all dried the one colour. Next I think they will do the moroka/bagging for the other 3 sides then painting.

We have been for our meeting with the electrician on site and organised where all the lights, switches, power points, as well as the tv, phone and foxtel points will be. most of it is standard priced with the build with extra things like our stair and down lights + extra points being extra and paid to the electrician.
